This event is a live webcast of the event taking place in Waterloo, Ontaro on February 4th from 5pm until 10pm Eastern (GMT -5). This event will be offered on a cost-recovery basis to those that are interested. The event will provide the video, audio, and slides from the speakers. There will be some opportunity to interact remotely.
Embedded mobile development is a key industry. Today's smart phones have more processing power, memory, and network bandwidth than servers & desktops in the not too distant past. They also have applications that could only be dreamed of in the past.
This event will provide a synopsis of a few smart phone platforms and developing on them using free and open source software.
Each speaker will be giving two presentations about each platform. In the first presentation each speaker will be an introduction to the platform. In the next presentation the speakers will show how to create a program a little more sophisticated than "hello world" on their respective platforms.
Please see the bottom of this page for abstracts and a link to the biography of each speaker.
