Bio: Kamal Hassin is responsible for R&D and product management at Protecode, an Ottawa-based company that provides solutions for software intellectual property (IP) management. He received an M.A.Sc. in Technology Innovation Management in 2008 from Carleton University. His thesis is titled “Model to ensure clean intellectual property in software development projects”. Kamal has become an expert in clean IP by working with academics, lawyers, and software companies in the field of software licensing and IP management. He has led research teams to publish and present at various internationally recognized conferences including the IEEE ISTAS 08, MCeTech 2008, and OpenEd2007.
