Freeseer is open source software that lets you record presentations such as full motion demos, or slide presentations. What makes it unique is that it is capable of capturing video from a vga capture device, webcam, or camera using firewire. The following video shows you how to set up for vga capture.

Where do I get the software?

This looks like it might be good for screencasting. Where do I get it?

Still works

I love technology!  I didn't realize recording through my web cam was possible. The video was easy to follow, too. I use the link that 'across' mentioned above me (http://github.com/fosslc/freeseer/ and it still works.
