Software Engineer

Program Summary

OrangeHRM develops the world's most widely used open source Human Resource Management software. OrangeHRM plans to expand its product development and professional services divisions in its attempt to be the global market leader for Human Resource Management software.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
============================
• Design, code, test, and maintain software.
• Estimate the size and scope of the development efforts.

Competencies and Skills
====================
• Languages: PHP (knowledge of other languages a plus).
• Operating Systems: Linux and Windows.
• Relational Databases: MySQL, strong SQL skills.
• Web technologies: HTML, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX
• Excellent analytical skills including ability to work with unstructured information.
• Must be able to handle complex problems independently, and evaluate alternative approaches to problem solving.
• Strong grasp of object­oriented programming concepts and design patterns, with the ability to model solutions using UML.
• Knowledge of agile software development practices including test­-driven development.
• Good technical writing and documentation skills with high attention to detail.
• Excellent written communication skills.

Education
========
• BS (Computer Science/Engineering) or equivalent knowledge and experience.

Required Experience
=================
• A minimum of 2 years experience in software development
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in development using object oriented programming languages.
• A minimum of 1 year experience in development in PHP.
• Experience in designing and coding database applications.
• Hands on experience in developing software on Linux and Windows.
• Experience in using version control systems such as CVS, Subversion etc.
