Switching barriers between Microsoft Office and OpenOffice.org: the user perspective

in Government, SC2009, OpenOffice
Printer-friendly version

Open source adoption is gaining a lot of interest as a research area. Unfortunately, most of current research ignores the user perspective. This talk examines research done on the switching barriers between Microsoft Office and OpenOffice.org from the user perspective.

[FOSSLC Editorial comment] Sorry about this folks. The company that was hosting the videos wanted to charge us $2600+ to host it and didn't give us reasonable access to transcode the videos to host elsewhere - this was a rip off so unfortunately the video is no longer available. For this reason, we've developed Freeseer to ensure this never happens again. We are very sorry for the inconvenience and especially to Mekki MacAulay after delivering such a great talk.
